Once again phishing emails are circulating Australian servers and this time a fake notification claiming to be from the Australian Government asking you to verify your details in the myGov account by clicking on the link in the email which leads to a phishing site aimed at stealing your myGov credentials.

Please beware of these fake emails and see below how to spot a fake by hovering your cursor over the button as displayed below revealing the real link. Also always check the from email address and not just the name ‘MyGov’ as displayed below.

We have located a fake Optus email circulating to @optusnet.com.au email accounts and others claiming you have a failed bill payment and you need to update your account immediately by clicking  here. This email looks convincing enough for some people to fall for it, but it’s easy enough to tell the hoax by hovering over the link for 2 seconds without clicking which will reveal the actual domain your’e going to get phished on!
